About Zimride on the IUB campus
IUB Transportation Services is assisting the Indiana University Student Association (IUSA) in launching their new partnership with Zimride on the Bloomington Campus. Zimride is a private rideshare community which helps you offer or request rides for commutes, road trips, and popular events. This new service, brought exclusively to the IU Bloomington community by IUSA, is a great way to find another carpooler to help you share driving costs!
Note: The Trustees of Indiana University and the Office of Parking Operations are not a party to the agreement between IUSA and Zimride. IU, through the Office of Parking Operations, is acting solely to inform the IUB community of this new service and to help IUSA provide the IUB community access to Zimride.
Zipcar partnership
While Zimride is a ride-sharing program brought to you by IUSA, Zipcar is a car-sharing program where members pay an annual fee in exchange for access to reserved vehicles, which are available to rent by the hour or day. Members may place reservations online, getting 24/7 access to vehicles right on campus. Zipcar membership is available to the IU students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Bloomington community.
Thanks to IUSA's recent partnership with Zimride, Zipcar members now have the option of locating carpoolers by posting their reservations on Zimride. To do so, first make your reservation at www.zipcar.com/iub. On your reservation confirmation page, you'll have the option to share your ride. Zipcar will send your reservation to the Zimride site, where you can then choose your preferences and post your ride.

How Zimride works
IUSA's new Zimride service uses Facebook and Google Map technology to make it easy to share the seats in your car or catch a ride with fellow IU students, staff and faculty. There is no charge for this service but you must be an IUB student, faculty, or staff member to participate.
Zimride requires an IUB Central Authentication login and password to gain access. By logging into the Zimride service, basic information such as name and email will be sent to Zimride. You receive email alerts when matches are found.
Get started
Zimriding is simple. All you need to do is:
- Visit www.zimride.com/iub and log-in
- Add your ride offer or request
- Review your match list and start Zimriding!
